Mental Health First Aid training is similar to CPR, giving you the tools to respond to emergencies. This course will teach you how to recognize a mental health crisis and respond.
Mental Health First Aid training empowers you with greater mental health literacy and empathy when you see others in need of help. It does not teach you to diagnose or treat mental health issues, but rather to address a crisis and connect people to resources.
The training prepares everyday people to respond and help those around you, whether they are strangers, friends or family. This course focuses on adult populations. Additional trainings focused on youth will be offered at a later date.
Registration is free to anyone ages 18 and up. The course will be held virtually in two 3-hour sessions on Tuesday, January 23rd and Wednesday, January 24th from 9am-1pm.
