Mental Health First Aid training is similar to CPR, giving you the tools to respond to emergencies. This course will teach you how to recognize a mental health crisis and respond.

Mental Health First Aid training empowers you with greater mental health literacy and empathy when you see others in need of help. It does not teach you to diagnose or treat mental health issues, but rather to address a crisis and connect people to resources.

Attendees learn:

  • signs, symptoms, and risk factors of mental health or substance use conditions
  • words and actions to respond
  • how to connect people with care or local resources

The training prepares everyday people to respond and help those around you, whether they are strangers, friends or family. This course focuses on adult populations. Additional trainings focused on youth will be offered at a later date.

Registration is free to anyone ages 18 and up. The course will be held at the Mountain View City Hall on Saturday, July 27 from 9am-1pm.

Don’t wait to sign up! Registration deadline is Monday, July 15. Class capacity is 30 people.

Registration is required. Please register directly by emailing Kennya Rodriguez at krodriguez@momentumforhealth.org
