ABOUT
Crisis Support Available, 24/7.
Momentum for Health’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide care for people in behavioral health crises. As the only voluntary adult crisis stabilization unit in Santa Clara County, we are here to help individuals as they need support. We provide a middle ground for those who don’t require acute inpatient care but can benefit from enhanced, ongoing monitoring and engagement. This helps reduce reliance on local law enforcement and emergency departments.
With plenty of homelike touches like a large fish tank and serene art on the walls, the CSU helps you return to your daily life renewed and ready to handle life’s challenges.

What to Expect
At Momentum for Health, we value freedom of choice and a safe environment. The CSU exists to meet your basic needs in a respectful environment. We accept only 8 clients at a time in a shared space, ensuring each individual receives focused care tailored to their unique needs.
During your stay at the CSU, you can expect:
- You will be greeted with compassionate care upon arrival. A nurse will complete a brief medical triage, check your vital signs, and give you a rapid COVID test if indicated.
- You’ll meet with a clinician to discuss your current experience and ensure CSU is appropriate for your needs.
- When you arrive, we will welcome you and discuss your options for your stay. We can provide a warm meal, a shower, and a safe place to sleep. You can interact with other clients if you wish.
- Peer navigators with lived experience are available to help you navigate your treatment options.
- Treatment cannot exceed 24 hours, but our support doesn’t end at discharge. Staff will help link you to other resources.
